OCD?

Try this one on for size.

I didn't plan anything to do today. It's the day off. I planned on being productive for a bit and at least get 'something' accomplished.

The morning started with a homemade Iced Hazelnut Coffee (two actually) and some wheat mini bagels, followed by the usual dishes, laundry, and litterbox chores. I got the laundry all packed up after the dishes were done (and put away). I delivered the laundry and switched over to Diet Coke. After I dropped off the laundry, I cleaned off this mess of a desk. Somehow that went hand in hand with the CD booklets and the bookcase.

(Are you beginning to sense where this is going?)

Several various medicine cabinet items had found their way onto the desk or into the workbag. Returning them to the rightful place in the bathroom lead to a complete medicine cabinet sort. Everything out, clean, everything useful back in it's 'place.' Then I found myself in the living room closet (one of two in this whole apartment). Once again, everything out, clean, sort, everything back in.

I'm evidently no longer so tolerant to caffeine I suppose. That's mad man work for a day off.

But wait...

I got the overwhelming urge for my world famous rice pudding. I begin to assemble the ingredients only to discover I'm fresh out of rice. The next thing I know I'm standing in the market with a basket full of items. I began pondering what I was making by the selections that were in my basket. Evidently I wanted Spanish rice, as everything I needed was already in my basket. So I went with the flow.

As of this writing, the KickASS rice pudding is chilling in the fridge, the Spanish rice is done, and the steaks have been soaking up marinade for the past couple hours.

All of this hard work will pay off when I dish it all up for dinner. I guess I needed a domestic day.

Something is certainly in the air. I've worked my tail off on my day off, and Devon over at Ink in My Coffee started writing a play this morning. Keep up the great work D!

It's great to finally sit down. I've been running since 10 am this morning. That is SO not a typical day off for me... ;-) I haven't even picked up the book I'm reading yet today.

Don't panic, that is exactly what I'm about to do. Put my feet up, enjoy some dinner, and curl up with my book and da kitties!!!

HOT HOT HOT

Welcome to August. Here in the baked apple we are doing fine. Brown Sugar and Butter anyone?
(if you don't get it, don't ask). ConED has kept everyone in power (so far) no blackouts anywhere! I stopped looking after the heat index hit 107. Of course it's a balmy 85 degrees now that the sun has set and the city continues to radiate back the heat of the day. Ra has blessed us today, and it's looking like we are going to bask in his glory a few more days as well.

Iced Tea anyone?!

The apartment hunt continues. I looked at two places yesterday. One I can't afford and the other is no improvement over my current place. I haven't found it yet... and neither has my broker...

Ice Cream, Lucy, Bed. In that order!
