I am not at all surprised

Not one bit. I'm Flattered!!

Your Score: Katharine Hepburn

You scored 23% grit, 14% wit, 42% flair, and 23% class!

You are the fabulously quirky and independent woman of character. You go your own way, follow your own drummer, take your own lead. You stand head and shoulders next to your partner, but you are perfectly willing and able to stand alone. Others might be more classically beautiful or conventionally woman-like, but you possess a more fundamental common sense and off-kilter charm, making interesting men fall at your feet. You can pick them up or leave them there as you see fit. You share the screen with the likes of Spencer Tracy and Cary Grant, thinking men who like strong women.

So-SOO Hilarious

My father should be proud...

Your Score: John Wayne

You scored 33% Tough, 23% Roguish, 19% Friendly, and 23% Charming!

You, my friend, are a man's man, the original true grit, one tough talking, swaggering son of a bitch. You're not a bad guy, on the contrary, you're the ultimate good guy, but you're one tough character, rough and tumble, ready for anything. You call the shots and go your own way, and if some screwy dame is willing to accept your terms, that's just fine by you. Otherwise, you'll just hit the open trail and stay true to yourself. You stand up for what you believe and can handle any situation, usually by rushing into the thick of the action. You're not polished and you're not overly warm, but you're a straight shooter and a real stand up guy. Co-stars include Lauren Bacall and Maureen O'Hara, tough broads who can take care of themselves.

That's Showbiz

Well, that's ShowBiz. They are closing my main source of income on May 27th. Time for Imp to start beating the streets for work again. DRAT!!!

I figured this one wouldn't last long, but they are closing a few weeks ahead of what I even pessimistically forecast. Oh well, they can't all be hits...

Off to work this morning, while I contemplate my next move. On the upswing, we will be one of the first shows to close, so I'll be one of the first back into the availability pool. Most floundering shows close AFTER the Tony's...

All is good here; not panicking, just annoyed. I was just getting accustomed to my schedule.

But again, that's ShowBiz....

It just cracks me up

Get 'em Girl!!

Thursday

Off and running on the Thursday:

OK People, here is your notice... I don't use my alarm clock, I set my cell phone... So when your drunk asses start drunk/bootiecall texting me @ 4:35 freaking AM, I know about it immediately. And Nobody has ever gotten Anything out of me by irritating Papa Bear when he's hibernatin'. Got it?!

(Lord! Some peoples kids...) Like My Momma would say, "At least act like you've had some bringing up!"

Work was wacky today. I started throwing laundry into washers like I meant business, only to turn around 1/2 hour later to realize I hadn't followed my own personal 'order of doing things.' Which only meant that I was going to be backed up for dryer space later, but it just made things a little odd this morning. I was one load out of whack all day. LOL

I did something this afternoon that I rarely do. I went to a movie. It's not that I don't like movies, I Love movies, but I really Really dislike Manhattan Movie theatres (please note I live just outside of Times Square). So it has be really good to drag me into a movie theatre. Two Words: James Franco. I went and treated myself to Spiderman 3. And I enjoyed it. Great special effects, decent story line, and an all too brief moment of James in nothing but sport briefs and fog. Who Knew that man had such sexy thighs? He had plenty of screen time (and let's face it, I'll watch a 4 hour movie just to get 30 minutes of his lips). And I timed it perfectly. There were only about 20 people in the theatre with me, and we were all adults. So not only did I have a great movie, but I had a great movie experience too.

Now, I am FINALLY going to tackle the desk and the files. Wish me luck, I'm pretty sure my desk is under here somewhere...

Springing Into Freedom and Poverty

Well I did it!! I'm free from daily monkey madness. My work life is now firmly ensconced by laundry and stitching calls. I am working so much less. My stress level has declined dramatically, and I'm blissfully delighted that I'm no longer doing 8 shows a week. Less hours, Less money, more Imp.

After spending close to two weeks in the new schedule, I'm beginning to crawl out of my shell a bit. All I did was sleep and rest after I left the show (outside of working the new calls I have). I've evidently been restored enough to start feeling social again. I had dinner with a dear friend last night, which turned into a 5 hour chat and chew, walk and talk escapade. Brilliant, we had such a good time. He had been out of town designing dance concerts and then dealing with family issues, and we hadn't had a chance to get together and chew the fat. Which we did nonstop last night. Good times!!

Imp has been prancing about!!! My favorite Male vocalist, Mr. Darren Hayes is returning to NYC to do gig at the Canal Room. I missed the last intimate gig and have been way irritated since. I got TICKETS this time around. Super excited. (This is the man who made me realize just what it is that makes people rip off their underwear and throw it at Rockstars... I will Never forget that moment at Radio City Music Hall, EVER!).

Of course the show sold out in matter of days, and Darren decided to play another gig at the same location 2 weeks later. I'm not one to deny myself, specially in the mood I've been in lately, and so I'm going to be going back to see him again for the 2nd show. La La, La La, LA LA.
Yes, I'm quite pleased with myself.

In preparation for a fun filled trip to Philly next week to see the traveling Tut exhibit. Going with 3 fun friends of mine for a day of dining, travel, and golden history. I've been waiting months to see this exhibit!! Should be a fantastic time!! And I haven't been to Philly in years (perhaps 10?)

Speaking of trips, in all my new found free time I did some puttering around the internet (as I'm prone to do). I have 2 free plane tickets at my disposal. GO points/miles. So I'll be taking a jaunt back to the Big O in July. Friends from CA are returning for a visit, and we've decided to make a reunion out of it!!! YAH!!! And I'm just pondering where this second ticket is going to take me. I'm not craving New Orleans at the moment, and nothing else has really skyrocketed to the top of Imps Must See list. June in Toronto is beautiful (but alas, that is outside of the free airline ticket option). hehehe

So I'm alive, and living, and starting to experience what a normal life is like again, after 3 very long years. And I LIKE it!!!

Ok, you've heard me talk about him and his work before. Now I'm Telling YOU: if you want to read a fantastic novel (or few) by a talented and honestly gifted author, you must Read Bridge of Dreams and River of the World by Chaz Brenchley. His command of language is astounding, his prose is beautifully lyric and masterly sculpted without being sticky or sweet. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough on River of the World. It is absolutely my favorite book so far in 2007 (and is likely to remain #1 in the end of the year tallies). The plot twists and turns and surprises enough to keep you wanting more, and did I mention how Real everything is. This is fantasy writing done the way it should be. Chaz has created his own desert island, surrounded with the magic of dreams and water. I didn't want the story to end. I was literally allowing myself 15 minutes at a time to read the final chapters. Brenchley delivered. I am one satisfied geek. Period!!! BUY these books!

That's it for the Wednesday update. Things are groovy and warm here in the Big Apple.

Love and Light to you all!
