Old Mother Hubbard

Old Mother Hubbard
Went to the cupboard
To give his poor kitties a treat.
They clamored under his feet
making him trip and fall into the sink
Can anyone remember when last
the apartment was neat?!~

Wwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! It's Saturday morning, and If old Mother Hubbard was to actually open a cupboard around here, she would find Nothing. That's right! Nothing! The cupboards are empty. So are the bookshelves. So is one of the two closets.

I think with one more 4-5 hour push, I will have the flat packed and ready for the movers on Monday. I had Help(?) last night from a friend who came over to help pack. I thank him for his effort. He despises packing, and yet we have a close enough friendship that he came over to help pack up my kitchen. I plied him with bourbon and dinner... So several boxes were packed last night, that I didn't have to physically pack. CHEERS!!!! It also allowed me to finish packing up the bathroom and one of the closets. We worked until what would have been the end of the show (11pm) and then had ice cream and I sent him home (packing?) hehehehe.

I slept last night. I shall sleep tonight. I feel a bit of the weight coming off my shoulders. It will be ready for the movers Monday morning. I shall finish up the bedroom this evening, emptying and packing up the last of the dresser items and boxing up the remaining clothes hanging in the closet.

Mind you, I can't walk through the flat without tripping over something. The only clear path is the 6 steps from bedroom to toilet.

But tis all good. Sunday night I will do the final internet things, and then strip the computer cables and entertainment system cables and cords. I have more than enough boxes and tape left. I might even still have the strength.... Moving is a full time gig, and I've manage to do it with two full time jobs.

Speaking of jobs: The ballet is going well. Initially, I was only guaranteed work in December for The Nutcracker, but yesterday I sat down with my boss and our calendars and was informed that I'll be continuing my employement with them for the winter season. I will get a break in March while they are out on tour but I am now confirmed to be employed by them while they are in NYC residence. This makes me happy on several levels, but I can't really discuss the full ramifications of this decision here; not yet anyway. But the plans are being laid, direction is becoming clearer. I'm never really concerned about having enough work; nay, the move is going to eliminate the need to work SO hard, and here I find myself with more work than I MUST have to live and pay the bills.

It will be nice to have the extra income though. Bills to pay, travel to fund, debt to eliminate. All part of the MP (master plan). All part of figuring out what I want to be 'when I grow up."

I started another saving account last week, titled "clothing - Italian." hehehe

The clean laundry is all so nicely folded and packed. Now I must carefully paw through that bag and pull out a towel so that I can shower and prepare for work.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts. They have helped immensely. I am very thankful.

The next post will be coming to you from the new flat. I have no idea when the cable company is actually going to appear to rewire the new house. it could take a few weeks (no one in their right mind moves this time of year, and yes; I know what that says about me).

Happy Holidays! Love and Light!!

I'm glad it went so well. I'm looking forward to your move almost as much as you are!
